From the perspective of communication, religion is a unique kind of communication phenomena. It impacts on believers’ mind by ways of ceremonies,emotions and beliefs, and plays a vital role on influencing believers’ mental health.The minority as floating population who live in the cities mostly have their different and unique religious beliefs. After entering cities, they keep their original religious customs. However, for reasons of the fallen behind conditions of religions in urban areas, they have to change their traditional religious customs to adapt to the lives in cities. More than that, the impacts what religions cause are also changed.To explore this special communication phenomenon, the researcher launched an investigation on the Uyghur nationality as floating population who live in Guangzhou City, while this minority has quite close connections with occasional terrorisms and violent incidents in recent years that have caused the public’s great attention, and many incidents are in religious sense.Via questionnaires and in-depth interviews, respondents noted that the flow of Guangzhou Uighur groups survive the current status quo and mental health status. By multivariate regression analysis confirmed the spread of religious activity on the respondents in Guangzhou Uighur migrants do exist affect mental health. Specifically:the number of places for religious activities more adequate, better psychological well;more to participate in religious activities, frequency spread, the better the degree of mental health; and Catholics, non-Catholics contact interaction of the crowd, is interviewed groups of urban life important aspects.As relatively vulnerable groups, the religious beliefs of urban minorities as floating population require more understandings, respects and tolerances.
