Phonological Study Of Fengfeng Dialect

Based on fieldwork in Fengfeng dialect, we describe the phonetic system of Fengfeng dialect,analyse regional variations,the new and old variations in the phonetics of Fengfeng dialect.Meanwhile,according to the new and old variations in the phonetics of Fengfeng dialect,we determine the phonetic variables,even more we figure up the pronunciation frequency and proportion of each phonetic variable.Then,we try to find out the possible relationship between the social factors as age,gender,occupation,education level and each phonetic variable.Full thesis divided into four chapters:Chapter one is for the introduction.First introduces the general situation of Fengfeng,including geographical position,historical evolution and brief introduction of Fengfeng dialect;Secondly introduces the research situation of Jin dialect and Fengfeng dialect;Finally introduces our research purposes and value,research approaches,research process and individual situation of our pronunciation partners.Chapter two does a detailed description of the phonetic system of Fengfeng dialect by the methods of science of traditional dialect,including the phonetic system of Fengfeng dialect,the keeping situation of Rusheng pronunciation,the homophones vocabulary of old partners.Chapter there compares the differences between the north and south part of Fengfeng dialect,the differences between the new and old variations of Fengfeng dialect by comparative method.Chapter four using the methods of social linguistics,does an investigation which aim at the old-style phonetic variant,furthermore we account the pronunciation frequency and proportion of each phonetic variable,at last we find out the possible relationship between the social factors as age,gender, occupation,education level and each phonetic variable.At the end of the thesis reveals the conclusion,and pointed out that the trend that Fengfeng dialect drawing close to Putonghua wouldn’t avoid,nevertheless that needs time to work.
