Urban spacial vitality is the motive power of space producing andsustainable development. Since the Enlightenment,the modernity contextwhich has gradually opened highlight the time value of urban space, andchange the problem domain. The daily life which control by science,mass culture and consumerism provides new experience of space, andalso convey the insight of subject alienation which result in the injusticeproduction mode from Marx. The Western Marxist representative byLefebvre presents the disenchantment of space. The emancipated politicalappeal is conveyed by their characterized theory of spacial criticize. Thispaper continue the spacial turning in western theory of criticizing andbase on the context of China’s production of space, by rethinking thepower of city development, ethical caring, and value appeal, wepresenting the ’spacial vitality’ as leading the new trend for thedevelopment of city.The existence of city result form human beings, lacking of spacialvitality serves as a obstacle for the appealing for a better life, blocking thefoundation for the legality of city existence and weaken the spacialinjustice. On the basis of review and combing the results of previousstudies, this paper explored the urban spacial vitality in differentproduction mode with a time dimension, redefined the concept andcharacteristics of spacial vitality in a ethnical horizon, starting from this, excavated the spacial vitality thinking in the modern Critical Theory ofWestern Marxism and then returned to the reality, rethought the mainproblems in the production of space in China, explored the ethical path topromote the vitality of space which focused on "spacial justice", forexpecting to make contribution to the study of urban spacial vitality.
