A Report On C-E Translation Of Agricultural Machinery Texts

With the increasing development of international integration, the communication about advanced agricultural technology between countries is becoming more and more frequent. As an essential part of modern agriculture, agricultural machinery’s development directly influences the overall development of agriculture. However, being late to develop its agricultural mechanization, so there is not enough research about it. Therefore, the translation of agricultural machinery text seems to be particularly important for agricultural development.This report is based on the author’s translation task of agricultural machinery Chinese-English (interception of ten thousand words), and also carries on the detailed description of every link in the process of translation, which includes task description, preparation, analysis and review after translation. Combined with the principle of functional equivalence, the terminology translation and grammatical relations with the way of case study are analyzed, such as the derivative method and the same word different translation method. As to the grammatical relations, it carries on the analysis of noun phrases, no subject sentences and complex sentences translation. Finally the author hopes it will provide some reference and help for other translators.
