A Study On The Relationship Among Positive Thinking, Positive Emotion And Social Adaptation Among Adolescence

In order to learn the traits of positive thinking, positive emotion and social adaption among adolescences, the relevant among the three variables and to discuss to what extent can positive thinking and positive emotion predicate social adaption of adolescence, and the mediating effect of positive emotion among positive thinking and social adaption, three questionnaires were used for 805 adolescences form 10 middle schools of Hunan province which were distributed by the proportional of gender,grade,and region in this study. There were 653 data of questionnaires were used and analyzed by SPSS 17.0.The results show that:(1)There was no significant gender difference of the development of positive thinking among adolescences. However, girls are more tend to think the things which happened or are not perpetual than boys. The difference on grade was significant. The level of positive thinking is increasing from seventh grade to senior one, and the senior two was the lowest.(2)There was no significant gender difference of the development of positive emotion among adolescences, but the traits on grade was significant and there is no regularity between grades,and the eighth was the lowest.(3)The gender difference on the sense of psychological superiority and interpersonal adaption is significant, but the gender difference was not significant on social adaption as a whole, except for mental elasticity. The higher grade of adolescents, the lower level of mental elasticity.(4)The relevant was notable positive among the three variables. Positive thinking significantly correlated to positive emotion (r=0.364,p<0.01), positive thinking significantly correlated to social adaption(r=0.471,p<0.01), positive emotion significantly correlated to social adaption(r=0.707, p<0.01).(5)The social adaption of adolescences can be forested by positive emotion and positive thinking which were perpetual and internal,negative things which were transitory and special.(6)The positive emotion of adolescences mediated the relationship between positive thinking and social adaption partially. The effect power was 47.64%.Conclusion:(1)The difference of positive thinking and positive emotion between boys and girls were not significant, except on the sense of psychological superiority and interpersonal adaption.(2)There was no age difference on social adaption, but the age difference on positive emotion and positive thinking, mental elasticity were significant.(3)The higher level of positive thinking of adolescences and experience more positive emotion,their social adaption was better.(4)Adolescences’ positive emotion was a partial mediated factor in the relationship between positive thinking and social adaption.
