Objectives:(1) To analyse the present situation of adolescent smoking behavior and influencing factors; (2) To explore the relationship between stress, personality, social support and adolescent smoking behavior; (3) Propose measures and recommendations to prevent and reduce adolescent smoking behavior.Methods:Using Adolescent Life Events Questionnaire (ALEQ), NEO Five-Factory Inventory (NEO-FFI), Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS), and Questionnaire for smoking behavior of middle school students, the sample, aged of 12 to 18, come from Yueyang, Changde, Zhangjiajie city in Hunan province and qingyang city in Gansu province.2660 questionnaires were distributed and 2380 were recovered, recovery was 89.47%, among them,2183 questionnaires effective, effective rate was 91.27%. Survey data was used statistical SPSS 17.0Results:(1) Adolescent smoking behavior were significant differences in gender (x2=152.524, P<0.05) and grade (x2 =84.750, P<0.05). smoking rate of girls was 2.7%, smoking rate of boys was 18.8%; smoking rate increased gradually with the increase of grade levels, the rate of first grade was lowest (2.5%), the rate of senior two was highest (18%); (2) Compared with non-smoking teens, smoking teens were significant difference in stress (t=-7.784, P<0.01) and social support (t=4.580, P<0.01). Besides, it wrer significant difference inpersonalities’s extraversion dimensions (t=-0.570, P<0.01), openness dimensions (t=2.795, P<0.01), agreeableness dimension (t=3.393, P<0.01) and conscientiousness dimension (t=2.308, P<0.05); (3) The results from logistic regression analysis showed that the total correct rate is 89.7% when gender, stress, social support and the openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness dimension of personality forecasted adolescent smoking behavior.Conclusions:(1) Adolescent smoking behavior were significantly associated with gender and grade. Smoking rate of boys were significantly higher than girls; smoking rate of senior grade were significantly higher than the junior grade; (2) Adolescent smoking behavior were positive correlation with stress and social support, and nagetively correlation with openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness dimension of personality. (3) gender, stress, social support and the openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness dimension of personality can be used to predict adolescent smoking behavior.
