Erhu is one of the main bowed stringed instruments unique to Chinese nation, which was mainly originated from Tang Dynasty, with strong national character and long history. At the beginning of development, it was applied in all kinds of folk music, which reflected that Erhu is a traditional musical instrument with typical focal features. Throughout the development process and current status of Erhu, it has experienced the age of accompany and concert, developed to be the most popular and professional national instrument, which can present the works of different types and styles, and be transplanted to different works. Meanwhile, it keeps innovating in the performance method, so that Erhu becomes the representative of Chinese national instruments with the most melody and singing features, and it also has abundant expressive force. During the study in middle school attached to Chinese Conservatory of Music, undergraduate study and graduate study, the author mainly studied the traditional folk music, contacted various types of music types and forms, and developed a thick interest in the modern popular music style.Consequently, in this paper, works of different styles and forms, and corresponding performance and presenting means are selected with the design of concert as the main context with China’s traditional folk music material, trying to bring the integrated and unified comfortable feeling to the hearing and vision of audiences. By studying the setting of program in the concert, the basic style and meaning of the work is understood, which can overcome the mental block of the fast skills and control all kinds of music styles. Besides, all kinds of contexts and roles can be gone through for the works from the perspective of expression and interpretation. Meanwhile, combining the individual study experience, it was considered that the future development of Erhu and Erhu popularizing teaching is mainly dominated by the development of Chinese nation and folk music. Besides, it shall refer to and absorb all kinds of external music, so that it can seek for the balance, compatibility, selection and innovation.
