The Study Of The Books Quoted By Yong Lu

Yong Lu which was wrote by Cheng Dachang in the southern Song Dynasty is one chorography records the ancient relics of Feng and Hao(the capitals of Zhou Dynasty), Xianyang(the capital of Qin Dynasty), Han Chang’an(the capital of Han Dynasty), Tang Chang’an(the capital of Sui and Tang Dynasty). This book historicizes the palaces, mountains, rivers, historical events and the changes of administrative compartment of those cities, meanwhile, cites the content of San Fu Huang Tu, Six Code in Tang Dynasty, The Chang’an Record and other books and demonstrates the historical reliability of records in these books. The Catalogue Summary of Si Ku Quan Shu holds:Yong Lu has wealthy historical materials, and the demonstration in this book is particular and various, as it were the best in historical geography books. So, Yong Lu has been valuing by scholars who study the history or geography of Chang’an.Yong Lu quotes various books and saves lots of valuable historical materials. It has been used by many ancient and modern scholars. Some scholars used it as primary reference, and others quoted the historical materials in the book directly. However, there are some errors and omissions in the recordation and demonstration of historical materials, it is necessary to comb and verify the references in Yong Lu. And through the verification, it can reveal the historical value of Yong Lu, provide convenience for the future research, and conduce to collect historical references which once were brought forth in some books but lost in the spread of history finally.In this paper, the following topics are discussed:The first part of the paper is introduction which includes the selected topic reason, the research status, research methods, etc.The second part of the paper focuses on the chorography of Chang’an before Song Dynasty, the whole life of Cheng Dachang and his writings, and the creative background, different versions and writing characteristics of Yong Lu.The third part of the paper is the research of the books quoted by Yong Lu.
