This thesis mainly focuses on the new themes which emerge with the cultural development under the influences of the new technologies:the enlargement of the critic domains for the film criticism on the new critic platforms. Through which we shall study the problems that the film criticism faces in the context of new media and we shall also seek for the ways out. The thesis develops its research logically through critic platforms, subjects, objects to the patterns.The first chapter deals with the concept of the critic platform:new media, and extension is regarded as the cultural character of the new media. This extension is a complete one:not only the’new media’is an extension for’the traditional media’, but the contents it carries are also a supplement and completion, furthermore, it works as an extension for men’s neural system. The new media carries all kinds of discourses with it large capacity; and it is a platform processing unlimited possibilities and vivacity by promoting dialogues between different subjects which leads to a continuous stimulation of new discourses.The second chapter bases its study on field researches to analyze the competition between the two major critic subjects:the professional critics and the mass critics. We shall analyze the university students’attitude towards the professional and mass critics based on their methods and ways of reading film critiques. Then we shall clear up the cultural properties of the mass film critiques and their standpoint. Finally we shall reevaluate the crisis that professional film critiques confront and through which we shall reflect on the future for the professional film critiques, that is, while stick to the traditional media, they have better utilize the new media to expand their living space.The third chapter sets for itself the problem about the critic domain opened by the ’micro-object’from a viewpoint of films themselves and the new patterns of film critics. Micro film, ’son’ of new media, experiences a process of incessant changes; while public-good micro films realize their contributions and redemptions through the new advertisement patterns. Besides these, there appears a new pattern of film critic: that of Weibo. On account of that fact that Weibo allows everyone to expresses himself and even anonymously, it has become a platform of communication for the mass. Hence, there comes the shallow aesthetic style of Weibo film critics.The fourth chapter deals with the film critics in video patterns. With a close research of the living conditions of the network video film critics, taking two shows as our examples, we shall analyze their postmodernist narrative style. Meantime, we shall study the trans-media practice and the signification of the film critic programs.Based on the researches from the last four chapters, the conclusion summarizes the problems which spring up in the context of new media and offers some corresponding solution.
