| Music instrument is a medium to express emotions, like a painter’s brush or a writer’s pen. Instrument performance is a way to convey people’s inner feelings via music instruments, through performers’ finger movements and body language. Only when performed with heart and emotions can music be charming and touching. In order to express music emotions, performers should perform under the corresponding psychological states, since psychological states influence emotions. This paper focuses on the erhu performance art, by discussing the cultivation of psychological timbre, the psychological hint force, performing psychology training, music emotion, the combination of psychological states and music emotions, through the author’s personal experiences in studying and performing music. |
