AS the literary sensation in Guangxi’s literary world, Zheng Xianpu has a lot of writing pieces. This thesis is based on his Crane Calling,the author has punctuated and annotated all poetries appears in this work also made a preliminary study on the preface of Crane Calling.“Crane Calling”, taking from the allusion of “Slight Sound”,represents chaos, panic and turmoil. e Crane Calling Collections was created between 1855 to 1860, the well known “Second Opium War” and the Taiping Rebellion were also happened during this period. Zheng Xianfu seemed to made a record on whatever happens in Crane Collection.He had taken a refuge in the area of Guangdong and Guangxi in his poetries; he has mainly described social unrests, sufferings of the ordinary and the desolations of the society faithfully which includes the Taiping revolution, the uprisings in Guangdong and Guangxi provinces, and rampages of the foreign invaders.Meanwhile, he’s also portrayed what he has experienced in his poetries which regarding to folk customs and popular sentiments, landscapes and historical sites. While at the same time he also advocated some of his literary views in “Crane Calling Collections”. For instance, in his poetries, Zheng Xianfu holds the view that articles should be simple and natural, poetries should be written under true feelings, people should learn from the classical but changed flexibly. Keep vitality in the articles is also very necessary.Crane Calling Collections has not only literature value but also historical value as well as a first-hand material for the comprehensive research of Zheng Xianfu.
