Research On Ligonglin’s Painting Art In Northern Song Dynasty

The number of literati increases rapidly with the policy emphasizing literature and restricting military force in the Northern Song dynasty. At the same time, literati’s demand of art got an increase.Therefore, Su Shi put forward the theory Literati Painting which met literati’s demand,so that a lot of literati followed this theory, and among these peopple, Li Gonglin was the best practitioner.Based on mastery and a comprehensive analysis of materials, books and documents, this paper fully explores and absorbs the results of previous related studies. This paper makes a comprehensive research and study on all aspecially of Li Gonglin’s painting art. Firstly this paper researchs Li Gonglin’s experience. Secondly this paper researchs his background and compares his art with Su Shi’s theory. Finally this paper researchs Li GongLin’s artistic creations begins with Xi Yuan Ya Ji Tu and comprehensive researchs his characteristic about subject, theme, distribution, skill and colour. Combined with work analysis, the paper is to sum up such relationships and aspects that fit the original findings form the history.
