Structure Of Planning Crops In Eastern Of Henan

Since the ancient times, the Henan Eastern Plain is the most important agricultural regions of Henan. It is impact by the Yellow River and part of Huanghuai River Plain, accounting for about 3/4 of the plain area of the province. In this region, the farming is dense and the agricultural technology is relatively developed. By this advantage, it becomes the most important grain production base in Henan Province. What’s more, whatever in the agricultural society and the modern time, the Henan Plain plays an important role in Henan and even in the whole country.In the history, it has a long progress, which in the replacement times of the Yuan and the Ming Dynasty was destroyed in the war and in the later Ming Dynasty, with the land reclamation, tax relief, the introduction of new crops and the expansion of planting area, the government restored agricultural production, and then in the end of the Ming Dynasty, the agricultural again became deserted. This was a microcosm of the agricultural economy development of north China Plain in the Ming Dynasty and the agricultural development for the eastern plain farming in the Qing Dynasty laid a solid foundation. Study on the agricultural planting structure of Henan Eastern Plain in Ming Dynasty can do some help to today’s agricultural development in our country.This article consists of four parts. The first part introduces the scope of this article, which includes the Henan Eastern Plain, the agricultural natural geographical environment and drought and flood.The second part discusses the main crops and its distribution of Henan Eastern Plain in Ming Dynasty by some editing of Ming Dynasty and other historical materials, which divide the main crops into food crops and cash crops in two large categories, including wheat and barley, silkworm, hemp, cotton, cereals, rice, beans, etc.The third part is about the crop planting structure. With the measure of the single tax in silver, this part will divided into two sections. One is about the crop planting structure before the Ming Wanli, carries on the quantification analysis according to the tax material from the editing, and reflects the main crop planting proportion by these data, which is the key in the key in this paper. Another is about the crop structure of it during Wanli Dynasty by the single tax in silver. The fourth part is analysis of the characteristics of crop planting structure, influence and causes of the phenomenon of planting structure of Henan Eastern Plain.
