Lu Xun is a master of Chinese modern literature history on the subject of national character. Lu Xun stood in the bidirectional reflection on traditional and western culture, he grasp the national criticism as the core theme of national character Lu Xun is well aware that the national crisis lies in the cultural crisis, and the cultural crisis lies in the "heart", which refers to the China national spiritual crisis. In his novels, with the rural township life as background, Lu Xun depicted the ancient Chinese people slavish and despicable spiritual world, and the author deeply criticism the feudal system. Compared with future generations, Lu Xun’s thought of national character is difficult to match. When Lao She came back to China, the passionate literary movement is over. Lao She was affected from Lu Xun’s thought of national character. But he focused on the theme of national character on the perspective of culture and he exposed the national character. By contrast, Lu Xun’s national character criticism is based on the “man”, in order to deeply criticism the feudal system in several thousand years, to lash the deep-rooted bad habits, to achieve cure attention. To some extent, Lao She’s criticism is not completely. The article is mainly compared this thesis in ideological theory, mainly content and artistic characteristics aspects, which is expected to find the similarities and differences between the two authors.
