As a special style of folk literature, the folk song is dapper in length, highly centralized in structure, music-like in language future and lyrical in emotion. Conveying the voice of the labors by describing scene of producing and living, it concentrates the mental activity in verbal form. The ballad is full of life whether in China or around the world, songs of great vitality. Its research and development have a profound meaning and value for our local culture and art.Oroqen ballad is one of the earliest language arts in the history of Oroqen. After creating the language, the Oroqen ancestors created ballad gradually. The original songs had a close connection with the people’s struggle for survival, which expressed the desire to conquer nature, reshowed the delight of hunt, or prayed for the God’s bless. Ballads then become an important part in people’s daily life. With the continuous development of history and the updating of class division and social system in Oroqen, its ballad refers to wider and wider aspects. As a result, the role it plays in society becomes increasingly important. Oroqen ballads has many social function, such as adjusting labor, exchanging experience, expressing love, judgment, holding entertainments, etc.This article is classified according to the ballad classification, put forward by Mr. Zhong Jingwen in Introduction to Folk Literature, the Art textbook of National College, in 1980.. The first chapter is the study of labor songs in Oroqen folk culture, dividing the labor songs into hunting and gathering, which are classified by the characteristic of labor. Through the analysis of several early representative Oroqen ballads, it mainly talks about some customs in working and its social value. The second chapter is the study of life songs in Oroqen folk culture. It is classified into persuading, bitter life and fun according to the subject. Through the analysis of the customs, it figures out its social function. The third chapter is the study of the ritual song in Oroqen folk culture, which is divided into magic song, sacrifice song and marriage song according to the type through the analysis of cultural beliefs and interpretation of their art features. The reason why these three songs are selected is that these three songs are representatives, which include almost all daily habits in Oloqen and is the most realistic presentation. Meanwhile, they are essential materials to understand the character and situations in Oloqen.
