The Female Survival In Time Horizon

Toni Morrison, the first black woman who wins the Nobel Prize in Literature.Her unique and profound literary background has always been favored by literary critics.Throughout her nine novel creation,you will find that black women’s survival condition and identity-building of black women has always been an important topic.Especially in her debut The Bluest Eye,Morrison sees the “eye” as a cultural perspective mirror to reflect black women’s survival state.In the paper,the word“time” has been the core of understanding black women’s survival consciousness,it not only constitute the novel narrative clue,but also connect each black women’s experienced life in series.So my paper will put the novel The Bluest Eye as the research object through combining the narrative time with Kristeva’s time theory and Baker’s poetics theory related to black women’s time.That is to disclose the theme implication which is how to explore the self-identity survival and black women’s survival value in “time” horizon.According to the narrative structure from the individual to the whole,my paper includes five parts. Part 1 mainly analysis the "survival" theme of the black women in Toni Morrison’s nine novels as a whole,and have a systematic comb to the research development including the results of The Bluest Eye.Chapter 1 mainly combine the presentation of "time image" which is from Baker’s black women time theory with three black women’s identity construction, that is to tell us black women’s plight and struggles in the novel. Chapter 2 mainly using Julia Kristeva’s "women time" theory to illustrate three different women trying to find a fitness "survival mode " for their own time,but finally they lost the flashing value of "existence", just being out of the black community, history, language and culture. Chapter 3 mainly from a whole perspective to analysis the“time”characteristics,which is not line but broken,as the obstacles in black women’s happiness living roads.The conclusion part is a chronological summary of the paper’s structure and have an overall evaluation of the black women’s survival theme,which is thinking about the black people even the development of human in various works of Toni Morrison.
