Sergei Vassilievich Rachmaninoff(1873-1943) is an important representative of late romantic music, his music creation involved in the field is very rich, covering the piano, chamber music, opera, symphony, chorus, songs of various genres. In many genres, the creation of piano works occupies an important position. Rachmaninoff wrote 24 "piano prelude", this set of works by "prelude in c sharp minor"(OP.3 of 2,1892), "ten preludes"(OP.23,1902-1903) and "Thirteen preludes"(OP.32,1910) from the collection, respectively belonging to different stages of creation. "24piano prelude" is one of the representative piano works, but also an epitome of the whole career of the composer.The thesis consists of four chapters: Chapter one-- introduction, the research in this dissertation is the reason and the significance, research methods and means, research summary is discussed; the second chapter-- Rachmaninoff "24 Piano Preludes and chromatic techniques", about the life of Rachmaninoff, "piano prelude" music creation and the inflexion and sound changes briefly overview; third chapter-- "24 preludes" chromatic techniques, this chapter is the emphasis of the paper, detailed analysis on the works of chromatic techniques, respectively from the tune from the inflexion, inflection class variable tone, adjustable alternative class inflection and decorative inflexion four aspects to carry on the thorough careful research. The fourth chapter-- the creation features of "24 piano preludes", respectively from the tonality layout, theme development skills and harmony three aspects.In this paper, published by people’s music publishing house in 2008 October, "Rachmaninoff 24 Preludes for piano music" as the research object, starting from the angle of the harmonic techniques, diacritical techniques as the scope of the study, through detailed analysis of "24 piano preludes" inflection in technique, characteristics and combined with its tonality layout, theme development skills, harmony and so, understand Rachmaninoff’s creation style.
