The Book Binding Design Holographic Theory

Holographic theory studies the law of universal relation of all things in the universe; it is a kind of philosophical methodology. From this point of view, it is feasible to combine it with book binding and design system. The whole argumentation of this article is to demonstrate the combinative process of holographic theory and book binding and design system. According to research, in the books system, there are some kinds of holographic connections between design unit as a part and the book as the whole. These connections also exist between the design unit as a part and the unit as a whole. These connections complement and penetrate each other.At the same time, as an artificial system, the designer’s task is to design the books system into a holographic-connected whole system in accordance with the laws of the universe, so that different parts of the book and the book system with the external system become holographic and organic connected system.Based on the holographic universe unified theory, this paper combines the theory of language holography, biological holographic theory and system theory and creatively put forward the theory of book binding design holography.The book binding design holographic theory thinks book system is a whole system which is holographic related. In the book binding design system, all elements contain the same information, that is, in the system different parts are in holographic unity. And the part and the whole are in holographic unity too. Any holographic unit in book binding design system is the epitome of the whole system in different levels and extent. The art of design and the whole art system is a unified whole. In the design art system, there exists a holographic connection between the art of book binding design and the other art units. As an art “holographic unit”, book binding design art contains all the information of art "holographic unity", and has become the epitome of art "holographic unity" in a certain extent and level.
