With the development of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, the effective teaching methods and models has become a problem which is being concerned and explored in the education circles. This paper sums up a kind of teaching method called "three steps teaching method",which is on the basis of grammar teaching practice of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and from the characteristics of grammar teaching, is suitable for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language in classroom, and especially suitable for teaching grammar.The so-called "three steps teaching method", in short, changes the complicated teaching process into "input-practice-output" these three procedures which is according to the laws of the characteristics of the Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. We know that the process of teaching and learning is a process of input and output. But only with the high quality of "input", it may not achieve the desired "output" effect, therefore, before the "input" and "output",there still needs an important link of storage and memory-"practice" to help. This is the connotationand theoretical basis of the "three steps teaching method" This paper aims to analyse and study the teaching principles of the "three steps teaching method", a vast amount of "three steps teaching method" and display the classroom teaching design in order to make it clear that the thinking and methods of the grammar teaching in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.In addition to the introduction, this paper is divided into five chapters. The introduction mainly introduces the research purpose of this paper, the research significance and the research methods.From the first chapter to the fifth one is the focus of this article.The first chapter sums up the basic connotation of "three steps teaching method" and its related theoretical bases. " The "three steps teaching method" enables learners to "understand","remember"and "use" mainly through the organic combination of "input", "practice" and "output" these three processes. We put forward the "three steps teaching method" which is more suitable for the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in abroad classrooms and based on the theory of Krashen’s "Input Hypothesis" and "The Structure and Function Theory" and so on.The second chapter summarizes the teaching principles for the three-step teaching method respectively from the input, practice and output these three parts by other teaching methods and experience. We think that in input stage, we should follow the principle that we must have concise, visualized, logical and modest explanation, In practice stage, we should follow the principle that combine the diversity, interest, mechanical and appropriate error correction with the teachers’guiding; In output stage, we should pay attention to the principle that authenticity, interest, the student-center and maneuverability etc.The third chapter. we have a series of teaching design about grammar points which conforms to the actual needs of according to the teaching principle and apply them to the practice in class in order to test the practicability and validity of the three-step method in practice.The fourth chapter mainly discusses teaching objectives, relationship, the differences of the main body, the differences of application at home and abroad and its significance in the grammar teaching of "three steps teaching method" between the activities. Three-step teaching method holds that purpose of input is to make learners understand and practice enables learners to remember what they have learned, output is to let the learners use the language. "Practice-input-output" three step is step by step, layers of in-depth, and only when learners understand and remember, can they skillfully use them. No matter practice, input or output, we should adhere to the principle that teacher is dominant and students are the main body. In the actual teaching process, teachers and students are satisfied with "input" stage, but ignore the "output", which caused the situation that students can only understand but cannot use, and in the language environment which is far away from the target one, it lacks of a real communication environment, which requires teachers to establish context in the classroom in order to help students to use the language. "Three steps teaching method" has changed the relationship between teachers and students, what makes it easy to master grammar teaching, effectively improve the teaching efficiency and promote the development of the grammar teaching.It introduces briefly the "three steps teaching method" in pronunciation, vocabulary and Chinese characters, and the use of other language elements.Because of strong maneuverability of the "three steps teaching method", the three-step method can be widely used not only in each stage of grammar teaching, but also in such as pronunciation, vocabulary and Chinese characters teaching, which promotes teaching Chinese as a second language.
