"Tai Ping Guang Ji " is the first total category book of the ancient Chinese classical novels. It is the oldest and largest ancient Chinese novels, which covers nearly 3,000 years history from Pre- Qin to Song Dynasty, amounting to 500 volumes, including about 7000 works, summing to three million words. It records a wealth of information on the living conditions of women, and it is an ancient culture book with great research value. Tang Dynasty was the heyday of the feudal society. It is more free and open as opposed to other dynasties. Women suffered less constraint. Relative to other dynasties,women of Tang dynasty have more favorable conditions, especially the women in the upper.This article consists of three parts: In the first part, the time, social class and living conditions are the basis of classification. The six hundred and two records about Tang Dynasty women in "Tai Ping Guang Ji " are classified to collect statistics. It makes the records on women’s image more clear, intuitive and systematic with the table. The second part makes a detailed study on the family living conditions of superstratum women in Tang Dynasty in "Tai Ping Guang Ji ".The study is discussed in detail from three areas. They are marriage life, spiritual life and education. We can come to the conclusion that the women in the upper in Tang Dynasty have higher degree of freedom in family life according to the " Tai Ping Guang Ji ".In addition, this part makes a simple comparison between women in the early Tang Dynasty and women in the late Tang Dynasty. The comparison is based on the statistics of the first part.The third part makes a research on social living conditions of superstratum women in Tang Dynasty in "Tai Ping Guang Ji ".It explores mainly from two aspects which are social interaction and economic life.We can reach a conclusion that the general mood of society in Tang Dynasty was open and the social interaction was common. Research on the economic life is mainly debated from property division and property inheritance of superstratum women. We can reach a conclusion that the degree of participation in social life of superstratum women in Tang Dynasty was high and economic conditions were relatively loose. Finally, this part makes a comparative analysis on different fate of superstratum women from prosperity to chaos in Tang Dynasty. It makes a general summary to the position and fate of superstratum women in Tang Dynasty.
