A Study On Chinese Female Consciousness And Female Writing At The Age Of Consumption

Since about the 1990’s, "consumption" has gradually become a notable economic phenomena in China. The trend of consumption has produced great effect on modern Chinese. The coming of the consumption age have changed the literary activities. It also have an influence on China’s female literature. The female writing is surrounded by the consumption culture. Academics always discuss this cultural phenomenon. They can’t reach an agreement, but female writing make a progress in the collision of tradition culture and modern culture. Market economy led to the marginalization of female writers. It’s necessarily to pay attention to the female writing at the turn of social transition in China. The consumption age as a special cultural context in globalization, have changed the self-awareness of women. So we must study the existing situation of Chinese women, and compose nutrients from domestic and foreign feminist literary theory, then to explore the Chinese women’s subjective consciousness. In this way, we may gain a clear mind of female writing at the consumption age.Firstly, this paper will be quoted the economics principle, and focus on the policy of the socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics, then attempt to outline the characteristics of the "consumption era", such as mass carnival. Secondly, it will use the relevant theories of sociology and try to find the forms of Chinese female consciousness in consumption era.So we can have a better understanding about the gender of the consumerism tendency in the present age of consumerism. Finally, it will explore the new writing quality those that only exist in the Chinese female writing in the consumer society, then we can further refine the artistic features of the Chinese female writing at the age of consumption.In a word, this article will adopt an objective and dialectical attitude, clarify the relationship between the female consciousness and female writing. The studies for female literature may provide a new possibility to transcend of feministic subjectivity. An even more open gesture and a broader consciousness may bring female literature into a solid and fruitful stage. In a certain sense, we can say that the works by female are the most obvious sign of the literature in consumption age, the reconstruction of female consciousness is of important enlightening significance to female writing.
