A Study The Influences Of Chinese Language On Thai-edition Of Chinese Martial Arts Novel

Chinese novels distinctively have a great impact toward Thai literature. Chinese novels have become a ’hit’ in Thailand which indirectly motivates Thai writers to adopt the style ’swordsman novels’.Although’swordsman novels styles’have come a unique characteristic of Chinese swordsman novels in Thai edition, but this style at the same time has an impact of the popularity of Chinese novels in Thailand. Due to the reason that’swordsman novels style’ have directly adopted Chinese language pattern. To illustrate, Thai translated version have incorporated Chinese culture and Chinese unique language pattern, in which differ from Thai language pattern. This unique using of language pattern in Thai translated version seems to be relatively foreign to Thai readers, especially for those who are not ’big fans’ of Chinese novels. Chinese novel lovers embrace and praise this style deeply. In contrast, mainstream reader feel that this style is difficult to understand and thus leading an emotional disengagement in reading Chinese novels. As a result, Thai version of Chinese novels has not gained much popularity than they should be.Furthermore, a unique characteristic of Chinese Martial Arts novels in Thai edition has an influence to new generation of Thai translators and Thai Readers to consider what Thai language pattern should be.
