Since the birth of the martial arts film in the special background of China in the 1920s,it has been known as a unique Chinese film type.In 2000,"Crouching Tiger,Hidden Dragon" directed by Li An is the pinnacle of Chinese martial arts films. After that, along with the process of globalization and the rapid development of social economy, martial arts films have encountered a trough, many filmmakers began to seek breakthroughs and transformations, martial arts films show the characteristics of the convergence of tradition and modernity, reflecting the obvious anti-type characteristics.Combining with the practical constraints of martial arts films, this article believes that martial arts films are still the types of films that have national representativeness and vitality.Martial arts films need to keep up with the pace of the times and change their own development strategies in due course.Faced with changes in the background of the times and tastes of the audience,as well as the impact of foreign films in the context of globalization,Chinese martial arts films are also struggling to explore new development paths. We use a rational vision to see the growth and pain of martial arts films, which inspires the film people and the audience to continue to reflect and practice. What is more important to note is how to better integrate chivalrous spirit into universal values, how to use technology to better serve the content, and not only to lose the knight-errant core, but also to be both artistic and commercial. To solve these problems, martial arts movies are still promising.
