| Chinese ancient travel painting is a very typical paradigm of ancient Chinese landscape painting. This thesis takes the ancient travel poems as the research object, combing the development process of the ancient paintings and poems during the journey, and the ancient paintings and ancient tourists travel pomes images are classified and studied, summarized the ancient travel poems image types, analyzes the close relationship between travel-paintings and the poems inscribed on travel paintings.Travel paintings usually adopt landscape as the background, which are developed from landscape paintings. Chinese travel paintings actually appeared in Tang Dynasty, especially in the late Tang and Five Dynasties multiple travel paintings appeared. In Song Dynasty, travel paintings achieved a great development, not only the quantity, but also quality, in which emerged a lot of famous works, such as Yang Guan Painting, Pan Truck Painting, Travelers among mountains and streams Painting etc. In Yuan Dynasty, travel paintings have a new development, which emphasis Xie Yi in painting techniques. In Ming Dynasty, travel paintings achieve prosperity. A number of works appear constantly, such as Guan Mountain travel painting. By Qing Dynasty, travel painting significantly reduced. It is worth noting that, the development of ancient travel paintings and poems for the travel paintings are not fully consistent. The Southern and Northern Wei Jin Dynasties is a special period that are poems inscribed on paintings are in germination stage. This period saw a personal expression of emotion art. Far-way Boat on Hua Zhang is the first poem inscribed on travel painting, which emerged in Tang Dynasty.
