The Structure Of Recognition Concerned On SÄ“ma In Greek Epic And Dramas

Recognition was mentioned frequently in Aristotle’s Poetics, which paid attention on the progress from unknown to known. It was also called the pioneer of philosophy.This essay focuses on the structure of Recognition concerned on sema in Greek Epic and Dramas, which divided into six chapters.The introduction is about the definition of the terms and a summary of the studies in the past. In the following three parts, we will build the structure of Recognition in the Odyssey, tragedies, comedies, which concerned on sema. Most of the structure can be refined into a ternary one:body/family/society. But the occurring order in the trinity is differed in the three literary forms. In tragdies, the order can be concluded as body/family/society, when it showing as body/society/family in comedies. Both of them exisd in the Odyssey.The fifth chapter is the analyse of the structure upon the type of writing, temporal,spatial and belief. The last part concluded the comprehensive statement.
