Since the date of establishing diplomatic relation in October 2nd 1949 until today China and Russia have always been good neighbors. Russian Far East and Northeast China have common boundary of more than 3000 kilometers. In the nineties of twentieth century, after the disintegration Soviet Union, China and Russia’s high-level visits became more frequent and common, promoting the interaction between these countries, a large number of Chinese immigrants in Russia also facilitated the emergence and development of various of economic activities, especially in the Russian Far East. Their coming to this particular area was predetermined by good relations between the two referred to above territories in historical, cultural, economic and political spheres. Moreover, Northeast Asia has achieved great success in economy, energy, regional trade cooperation, the cooperation of regional industry, regional transportation cooperation, regional financial cooperation and other spheres, so proficiency in the Chinese and Russian languages is becoming an important part of successful communication between these countries. "Nowadays, Russia has more than 100 of institutes of higher education, which offer the Chinese language courses; about 25000 people are using variety of ways to study the Chinese language."Russian Far East is situated at the intersection of two coupled interactants-China and Russia. As such, it is a place where the bilateral cooperation is at one’s peak, which means that the demand for Russians who can speak Chinese the strongest. In order to satisfy it, the Far East government rendered assistance to local universities in establishing Chinese departments in their educational institutions. Researching the situation with teaching Chinese in the Russian Far East is the purpose of the survey conducted by the writer in five universities. Besides, the writer puts forward several constructive proposals to take up the challenges to teaching Chinese in this territory.
