In the Ming dynasty rulers paid more attention to education than the formers, t hey vigorously supported the school construction in Gansu province from the policy. I n these circumstances, the number of Jinshi in Gansu had grown to 163.This is a big de velopment compared with the former dynasties.Under the influence of multiple factors,such as military,policy,economy,folk custom and education, these Jinshi dist ributed over those areas with many rivers and were made a rapid progress in Agricult ural and economy.At the same time,those places were vital communication lines.Regards Gansu Jinshi in the Ming dynasty as a group, these Jinshi show a char acter of less in two sides,more in the middle in time. the average age of most peopl e is at 30-39 age. it is a period of person whose both mental and body are mature e nough; Most of them as a local middle-level officials,only a handful of jinshi could join in the national top institutions. This shows that although the number of jinshi in gansu province in Ming dynasty had a very big development than the former dynasty,but in the context of the country, the number of Jinshiquality and competitiveness s till lags far behind other regions.In the Ming dynasty in Gansu Jinshi origin status ind icates that the imperial examination system in the Ming Dynasty had openness and co mpetitiveness,and the Jinshi group had continiuty.Even so, the Ming dynasty’s jinshi in Gansu, had also made a great contribut ion to the historical development of Gansu province.As state officials, their law enf orcement strict, auxiliary loyal, his diligence; As a literary scholars, they writed l ots of books, compiled local Chronicles, left a great spiritual wealth for later gener ations.
