Study On The Creation Features Of Television Comedy Serial Animated Cartoons For American Children

American animation has been the top of the world animation industry, film animation is not only American major animation output products, but also television animation. American television comedy animation cartoons such as "SpongeBob SquarePants", "The Fairly OddParents" are the most favorite among the children in the world because of their unique imagination and notable American humor. However, in China there is not enough attention to such children animated cartoons, studies on the type of children’s animated comedy cartoons is even scarcer. For current studies in China, they are mostly concentrated in the creation of US film animation and operational direction of animation industry. In fact, there are essential differences between all ages targeted film animation creation and children targeted television animation creation. It is wrong to guide children’s television animation creation with study experience of film animation creation. It may mislead to wrong direction of creation and impact the educational significance. For this reason, this thesis will focus on television comedy serial animated Cartoons for American children which are full of humor. The aim is to provide valuable inspiration, technical reference and support of animation.The thesis comprehensive use of literature analysis, case analysis and comparative analysis as main research methods. The author read lots of books and articles on American animation studies, learnt theories about comedy, watched television animation cartoons video, to understand the development of American animation, and found that "comedy" has been a feature of American children’s animation. Narrative, character set and comedy performance practices, have formed its own patterns and common features, is the most suitable for children age characteristics of entertainment. To verify the idea, the author did analysis and case study on many television animated cartoons for American children, finally got ideas and suggestions on creation of children’s comedy animated cartoons for China.There are following significances to study on television series comedy animated cartoons for American children:1. Provide direct reference text for animation creation in China and help the development of this area.2. Cause particular concern about the comedy animation for children, Change from the current "all ages" targeted to the children targeted for television animated cartoons in China.3. Improve the qualities of television animated cartoons for children, let our children enjoy good works of television animated cartoons to achieve the purpose of both education and entertainment.So that children grow up happily and learn quickly at the same time.
