The Research Of Aesthetic Of Ring-like Narrative Movie

Since the Pulp Fiction won Gold Palm Prize of Cannes in 1994, ring-like narrative movie has gotten more and more attention. In the days of aesthetic image degradation and movie character get lost, ring-like narrative movie will encourage people to re-recognize the aesthetic value of film.As a new narrative structure, Ring-like narrative film makes the cause and effect seamless connection, the story end to end. The space-time of movie is the movie in cycles and the ending is no beginning and no end. Movie space-time becomes a carrier of the loop of destiny, mind, evil and so on. At the same time, it brings a new audio-visual experience to the audience. Ring-like narrative movie is a kind of movie which is postmodern collage, lacking dramatic conflicts and plots, but it is still worth watching. Because ring-like narrative movie reveals the truth and points out that the present situation of postmodernism. The disorder narration arouses the audience’s postmodern experience, and it causes the audiences to makes personal assessment on its surroundings. To some extent, the art creation has been integrated into the production of postmodern culture, and the postmodernism has become the innovation of the image aesthetics.Although the ring-like narrative film has the new structure and profound theme, it: has not well-known by the audiences. In consideration of circular narrative film as the object of the research, this paper will studies the circle structure and the theme, and reveals its aesthetic value. This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter discusses the cause of the ring-like narrative film, mainly including the change of film aesthetics, the experience of postmodern time, the win-win of business and artistic, the combined action of the material of film text and collage; then will give a definition to the ring-like narrative film from the fragments which keeps relationship with each other, the collage narration which uses several clues, the cause and effect which are seamless connection, the end of the story which has no beginning and ending. Chapter two analyzes the structure and the space-time characteristics of ring-like narrative movie, which are the ring structure and postmodern space-time. The third chapter discusses the ring-like narrative movie’s theme, including three aspects:the deep tragic consciousness, the infinite cycle of conflict and violence, the metaphor of the spirit of absurdity. The fourth chapter discusses the aesthetic value of ring-like narrative film, including awakening the experience of postmodern, the innovation of arctic technique, enriching the film aesthetics.
