| The words of metal objects is very significant in the study of this kind of objects. In 2009, A batch of metal objects with words was excavated in the mausoleum of King Jiangdu(江都王)located in Dayunshan, Xuyi, Jiangsu Province. These words are illuminating to the study on the system of Gong guan(工官)and the manufacture of metal objects, communication with the foreign country of Kingdom in Han Dynasty. And these words also arouse many new questions. This paper makes some textual explanation and analysis to these words. Then I explore the connotation of these words through the comparison them with the objects found in other mausoleums of King and make some conclusion on the system of Gong guan(工官)and the communication with the foreign country. And take the mausoleum of King Jiangdu(江都王)as example, this paper study the system of the manufacture of metal objects of the kingdom.In the chapter of introduction, this paper summarizes the find, record and the study of the bronzes of Han Dynasty firstly. The history of the study on this problem can be survived to four stages:the Song Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty, the Republic of China and the People Republic of China. Then this paper summarizes the achievement of the each stages of the study history. Secondly, this paper introduces the location, excavation and the layout of the mausoleum of King Jiangdu(江都王)The first chapter of this paper introduces the bronzes with words, and makes some textual explanations on these words of each types of the bronzes. Through comparison with the metal objects found in other mausoleum of King, this paper makes some conclusion on some problems, such as textual explanation, the owner of the objects, the types of the words based on the manner of words carving, the named recorded by the words being different from the objects, the chronogram words of the Jiangdu Kingdom, the system of officers and the Gong guan(工官)in Jiangdu Kingdom. It can be inferred that the system of officers in Jiangdu Kingdom is same to the Capital. The organizations manufacture the bronzes are established in the Kingdoms, and some bronzes maybe made by personal organizations. The bronzes maybe transported by many times. The system of Wu Le Gong Ming is in the early stage.The second chapter makes some textual explanations on the silver objects excavated in the mausoleum of King Jiangdu(江都王)and Queen Jiangdu. Then this paper makes some conclusions on some problems such as the "Chang Shi" carved on silver Xi, the age, circulation and the source of the shape. The silver plate is made in 31 year of Zhao Wang of Qin or 31year of Shi Huang of Qin by Zuo Gong. It was transported to Bei Gong of Qin or Han, then was transported to Jiangdu Kingdoms. The silver box found in the mausoleum of Jiangdu King is very significant. The same type of silver box can be found in other mausoleum of King in Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Yunnan, Guangzhou Provinces. The boxes are decorated with dehisced petals. Many scholars think this shape comes from foreign culture. But there are different opinions on which culture this shape comes from. The silver box reflects the communication with the foreign country of central government and the kingdom. The words of the silver boxes found in the mausoleum of Jiangdu King is illuminating. Through the textual explanation and the summarize of the silver boxes or bronze boxes found in other mausoleum of King, this chapter makes some conclusion on the property and source of the silver boxes, the communication with the foreign country before Han Dynasty.Take the mausoleum of King Jiangdu(江都王)and Queen Jiangdu as example, this chapter discuss some questions such as the types of words, the development and the historic background of the content of the words, the manner of the metal objects manufacture and words carving, the circulation of the metal objects. There are two stages in the independent manufacture of the metal objects in kingdom and the Wu Le Gong Ming. But not every metal objects are coincide with the system of Wu Le Gong Ming, so there are some deficits in concluding the age of the objects by their words. The study on the words of the metal hasn’t pay enough attention on the manner of words carving which can reflect the age and circulation of the metal objects. If we only study the content of words, the conclusion maybe not correct. So it is very significant to pay attention to the change of the manner of the words carving in the study on the words of metal objects. There are a little mausoleum of King in late stages of Xi Han Dynasty have been excavated. and a little metal objects with words in late stages of Xi Han Dynasty have been found. The traits of these words can not be summarized. With the development of the excavation, the study on these questions will be more comprehensive. And the study on the traits and the classes of the manner of the words carving also needs more materials offered by excavation. |
