On September 7, 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping has delivered a keynote speech in Nazarbayev University in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan. The important speech of President Xi’s trip to Central Asia provides a new historical opportunity and new demand and historical mission for the Chinese language teaching and Chinese cultural communication in the Central Asian countries.As the forefront and the guide of China’s education internationalization, Chinese teaching is first faced with the problem of cross-cultural communication. The words and deeds, the appearance and image, the dress etiquette of the teacher is not only the personal preference and option, but also represents the teachers’ professional image and even the national image.Therefore, the author sets about from the nonverbal behavior of Chinese language teachers of the students in Central Asia and the typical cases of the nonverbal behavior of Chinese teachers happened at home and abroad. Investigation on the 106 Chinese language teachers studying in central Asia is made and we can realize that from what aspects of the nonverbal behavior Chinese language teacher studying in Central Asia should improve the teacher image and promote the communication between teachers and students.At last, some suggestions are provided for the Chinese language teachers in the nonverbal behavior. The teachers can improve the understanding and application of the theoretical knowledge of the “nonverbal behavior” and use properly the positive and negative aspect of the “nonverbal behavior”. The teacher can learn and master more about the special cultural customs in Central Asia. The relevant national education organizations can develop the nonverbal behavior of the Chinese teacher for foreigner in class, such as increasing the courses of the related theory about the nonverbal behavior in the colleges and universities or increasing the training courses of the teachers’ nonverbal behavior in class by the Office of Chinese Language Council International when developing the volunteers.
