| Nowadays, the international communication has become increasingly intimate and the exchange of information is convenient and speedy in which news reports plays a significant role. Therefore, it is important to explore the translation methods of foreign media news reports to exert its transitional information well.Based on the translation of foreign media war news reports which are selected from CNN, the report initiates a preliminary study. The report has four chapters. The first chapter is the literature review. The second chapter is the description of the translation task. The third chapter is the description of the translation process. The fourth chapter is the case analysis. The part of literature review studies news reports translation a nd its strategies. It introduces the background and content of the translation task in the description of the translation task. The description of translation process elaborates the preparation before translation, translation process and proceedings after translation. Chapter four, case analysis, is the most important part. The report summarizes the translation of names, the translation of English news title and sentence translation methods of English news reports, such as literal translation, free translat ion, sequential translation and recasting translation. It summarizes textual translation method from two aspects, abridged translation and compilation translation. It elaborates abridged translation from the aspects of deleting words from sentences, abridging sentences from paragraphs and abstracting paragraphs from the articles. It elaborates compilation translation of English news from the aspects of paragraphs compilation and articles compilation. Ultimately, the report summarizes the translation practice and considers the problems in the translation process and the enlightenment to the future.It is intended to transfer the meaning of foreign media war news reports accurately by using different translation methods and meet the needs of readers. |
