A Translation Report Of Articles Of Association (Koelnmesse Pte.Ltd.)

The object to be analysed and demonstrated by this translation report is the translation of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of Koelnmesse Pte.Ltd.The translation practice is to translate the original English text into Chinese. During the translation practice, I have adopted the static equivalence translation strategy by Li Kexing(a legal English translator) as the theoretical support; on account of the encountered problems and difficulties in the translation process, and after careful study of relevant documents and parallel texts, I have obtained a new understanding and awareness of the characteristics of both the text and the translation of the memorandum and articles of association of the company; also, in the translation practice, I have made a more in-depth discussion and research of the use of ancient words in the legal text and the translation method. The translation practice has been completed under the guidance of the static equivalence translation strategy, together with the adoption of the translation methods like Transposing, Extending, Splitting and Adding. Hence, on this basis, I have written the translation report. The content of this translation report is mainly divided into four chapters, the first chapter illustrates the background, goal, significance as well as the reporting structure of this translation project. The second chapter discusses the research background of this paper, including the theoretical basis and the introduction of the original text. The third chapter is the main part of the translation report.In this chapter, I have listed the difficulties being encountered during the translation process,and the translation methods and techniques to solve these difficulties. The fourth chapter is the concluding part, which summarizes the lessons learned in the process of translation,the edification being obtained, and the problems still unsolved.
