| Hu Ming zhe is one in thousand artists who is able to express her own creative ideas clearly. Hu Ming zhe had gained extensive attention with figure paintings featured with exact delineation and enriched colors from the 80’ of last century. However, she was not satisfied with her own orientations and began to enter a new creation field taking “rock color†as opportunity.During her 30 years’ exploring of arts, Hu Ming zhe’s artistic styles had presented periodical changes. Although, she is still working on plate form with rock color material, her artistic concept had already totally different. Nowadays, rock color had become a kind of painting concept for Hu Ming zhe and she could do creation freely with this kind of language material. It could be either easel painting, or equipment works and both of their purposes are to present the natural quality of rock color material. With the guidance of rock color, Hu Ming zhe also entered into modern art realm where the meaning is expressed directly with abstract forms.The ideal of “Chinese rock color painting renaissance†is stimulating her all the time to insist on exploring. From practice to theory of rock color painting, Hu Ming zhe is the important impeller who spares no effort. On theory, she clarified the branch development situation of Chinese native painting colors and named it rock color. With the deepening of studies, she had a deepening understanding of the material rock color. The so called rock color is not only a kind of painting pigments but also a kind of cultural phenomenon which is synchronous completely with modern transition of Chinese society. It could say that rock color is with irreplaceable cultural values and meaningful aesthetic charms; therefore, the Chinese rock color painting is the witness of Chinese native painting evolution on contemporary era. It stands for a kind of eastern color concept, a kind of eastern philosophy and eastern aesthetics.With the analysis of Hu Ming zhe’s artistic style, artistic thought and the evaluation of material language, the studies on rock color related issues had been brought out in this thesis. It had been divided into five parts. Chapter one: The historical background of Hu Ming zhe. The living times of Hu Ming zhe and situation of art circles are briefly introduced in this chapter. Chapter two: Hu Ming zhe’s Art track. Cause factors, language patterns, art thoughts and art styles of different creation stages from “non egoâ€, “ego†to “no ego†are analyzed in this chapter. Chapter three: Hu Ming zhe’s art contribution. The naming of rock color by Hu Ming zhe and the historical origin tracking of rock color are introduced and meanwhile, the differences of rock color painting and wash painting are clarified in this chapter. Chapter four: the present situation of Chinese contemporary rock color painting..The development situation of rock color painting in contemporary era is sorted out and cultural connotation and art value are further introduced. Meanwhile, the similarities and differences between contemporary rock color painting and Japanese painting are also introduced at the same time in this chapter. Chapter five: The significance of Chinese contemporary rock color painting in the evaluation process of Chinese native painting. The activating to Chinese contemporary painting creation and the complementary significance to Chinese art education courses by contemporary rock color painting are further explained in this chapter. It is summarized in this thesis that Hu Ming zhe is an inevitable outcome of China’s social transformation and rock color painting is the extension of Chinese cultural origins in contemporary era. |
