Rock painting is a work of blending mineral color with glue. In 1980 s, the Chinese Renaissance, this is a kind of peculiar cultural phenomenon, which has profound historical meaning and cultural connotation. Rock painting in China has a deep root, the historical culture can be traced back to primitive society, modern almost lost the traditional mineral color painting color in contemporary revival and development.This paper mainly by the context of tracing the development of rock painting to explore the in the 1980 s revival of the cultural, historical background and direct, indirect cause, and thus to glimpse of history, look at the Chinese traditional mineral color painting prosperous and deterioration, providing reference for the contemporary development of Chinese painting and traditional cultural renaissance. The revival of rock painting also relates to "return", due to the in modern China almost lost, so the techniques and materials were inspired to inherit the essence of Chinese traditional mineral color painting and Japanese painting. Based on this, this paper in the history of the history of rock painting, but also on the relationship between the rock painting and Japanese painting to do a brief argument.
