This paper is a translation report on an excerpt from Intertextuality which was published in 2000. The book mainly digs into the origin and argumentative stems of intertextuality and demonstrates the complicated routes between texts in a way which has been used from specific social ideological agendas and perspectives, and has taken advantages of trends of thoughts in poststructuralist times, such as feminism, post-colonialism and so on. The report will give a thorough description of the translation project, supported by case analysis in terms of intertextuality theory. And it will end with a summary about experience or gains and problems extracted from the project.There are five parts in this report. Part one is the translation project description. Part Two describes the process of the project. Part Three deals with the problems in practice and analyzes them with examples, which concludes that academic language can also be elegant while maintaining its accuracy. The last part is a summary of the practice, a reflection about the difficulties or limits and some advices for future practice, which concerns on the rights of interference, the principle of translation, and the importance of pre-texts.
