This is a translation report based on the translation of the Introduction and the first three chapters of The Path of Excellence: World Class Leadership written by Bart Allen Berry, a famous American enterprise trainer. Combined with World Class Leadership Values, the original book aims to enlighten individuals and organizations to evaluate themselves and improve themselves, promoting the satisfaction and base of customers. This report is designed to explore the effective strategy and methodology of translating commercial texts by summarizing textual and language features, facilitating the higher quality of translation text and enhancing my ability of translation.This report is divided into four chapters. The first chapter describes the translation task, including the introduction of background, the reason of choosing this text, the goal and significance of this translation project. The second chapter describes the translation process, including preparation before translating, introduction of the theories of text typology and translation shifts to analyze the textual features and the problems we should pay more attention to when we translate a commercial text. The third chapter describes the case study, manifesting the theories with practice and proofing practice with theories so that we can obtain the effective strategy and methodology of translating commercial texts.
