This article, focusing on the works of Beicun, the important litterateur, discusses the significance of the contemporary Chinese Christian literature on the current Chinese society. Based on the biblical theology, the significance of the works of Beicun is discussed in the point of view of sin and suffering, faith and salvation, God’s love and justice, life of resurrection and God’s Kingdom. Some major characters of the new culture movement in China such as Chen Duxiu, Hu Shi, Zhou Zuoren, affirmed and expected the contribution of the Christian faith and spirit to the Chinese social development. Since 1980s, the study of Christian faith, culture and Christian literature began to take attention of the academic community of China.Beicun became Christian in 1992, and since then he has been writing his works through the Christian world view. He accepts Christian concept of original sin and believes that all sufferings and pains of life of men results from this sin. So men can be saved by faith through God’s grace, that is, by the sacrifice of the Savior, Jesus Christ on the cross. God’s love and justice was fulfilled on the cross at the same time. Therefore Christians look forward to the kingdom of God, already began to be achieved on earth since the incarnation of Jesus Christ but not yet accomplished; but it will be totally achieved by the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Beicun describes this hope and expectation in his works, Glass(2003), Rage(2006), I have an appointment with God(2009) and so on.
