What significantly effects creativity is mood, neutral one of which is relaxation. Because of the different research content, method and instrument, there are different conclusions on the influence of relaxation on creativity. The purpose of this study is to examine relaxation’s influence on creativity in the aspect of music relaxation and creative thinking-----insight, which is of deep theoretical and practical significance. In this study, state anxiety inventory, inventory of subjective relaxation, sphygmomano-meter and EEG are employed, music relaxation’s influence on insightful problem in preparation and incubation are studied in the aspect of behavior, physiology including blood pressure, heart rate and brain waves in the way of creatively using puzzle with multiple solutions. The hypothesis of this study are:in preparation, music relaxation of increasing alpha would lead to low level of solution to insightful problem, which is the same as that in incubation.After screening the puzzle of one solution and the puzzle of multiple solutions of the same difficulty in the first experiment, the influence of music relaxation on the preparation for solution to insightful problem are examined in the second experiment; in the third one, the influence of music relaxation on the incubation for solution to insightful problem are examined.In the second experiment,the repeated design for the single factor are adopted, in which the experiment group is group of music relaxation--puzzle test(MR) and group of counting----puzzle test(C).16 subjects are randomly chosen, all of whom shall take music relaxation---puzzle test and group of counting----puzzle test, while the two group are balanced between subjects. The puzzles are 10 puzzles of one solution in the same difficulty. One of the Baroque music:Canon, of pure relaxation effect, which has been adopted. Before separately taking the two groups, subjects shall take the Inventory of state anxiety and Inventory of subject relaxation. Before puzzle the subjects shall listen to the relaxation music or count. Before music relaxation and counting, baseline test with eyes closed and blood-pressure test are taken. It is the same count of subjects and design in the third experiment, while the puzzles are 10 puzzles of multiple solutions and 4 puzzles of one solution in the order: multiple-one-multiple-multiple-one-multiple-multiple;multiple-multiple-one-multiple-m ultiple-one-multiple(multiple means puzzle of multiple solutions;one means puzzle of one solution).The EEG data are analyzed by EEG analysis software:Analyzer. All of the data are observed in band of Alpha(a,8-13Hz);Beta(β,13-30Hz);Gamma(y,30-58Hz)in aspect of power. The behavior data are analyzed in statistic way. The results are as follow.(1)In experiment two, the difference of a power between MR and C is in P3/4, AF4,AF8 and AF3,manifesting that the average a power is stronger than that of C; Based on the respective baseline of MR and C, the relative average of a power of MR is also stronger than that of C; As one important index of relaxation level, the hemisphere coherence of MR in a is better than that C, vice versa. The difference between MR and C in state anxiety, subjective relaxation, change rate of blood pressure and heart rate is significant; the difference in the focus level in the process of music relaxation and counting is not significant and the level in higher in MR, which is normal and natural. All the results above manifests that the relaxation level of MR is higher than that of C,which shows in the pre-frontal hemisphere and frontal-temple region.In the aspect of a of restructing, the average a power of MR full-restructing group is weaker than that of C in most of the areas in related times except for time:2s-1.4s before button press;In AF3/4,AF7/8,F7/8,C3,the average y power of MR full-restructing group is stronger than that of C.Because insight is related to restructuring and may be related to strong a power, the insight may appear during 2s-1.4s before button press. However, the average a power of MR full-restructing group is weaker than that of C in the aspect of insight. The behaviour results:the restructuring grade of MR insight group lower than that of C insight group, while the suddenness and confidence level is higher than that of C insight group; the average reaction time is shorter and the correct rate for insight self-evaluation is higher than that of C insight group.(2) the relaxation condition in experiment three is same as the experiment two. The average a power and y power trend of insight group and full-restructing group is the same during 2s-1.4s and 1.5-0.25s before pressing button. During 2s-1.4s before button press, the average a power of MR full-restructing group is stronger than that of C; the average y power of MR full-restructing group is stronger than that of C in AF7. While During 1.5-0.25s before button press the average a power of MR full-restructing group is stronger than that of C in most regions except left pre-frontal regions. Though the suddenness rate of MR insight group is lower than that of C insight group, the restructuring level is higher, the average reaction time is shorter and the correctness is higher than that of C insight group. Based on the results above, the conclusion is:(1)Generally speaking, music relaxation stimulates insight.(2) Puzzle of one solution adopted, the left hemisphere also plays an important role in insight for the reason that there is a trend that the average a power is stronger in left brain region. MR stimulates insight during 2s-1.4s before button press, while the results between insight group and restructuring group, manifesting those subjects get insight without full restructuring. Even if there were full restructuring, subjects achieved insight via consciousness of high level attention. So with puzzle of one solution adopted, MR stimulates insight without full restructuring during 2s-1.4s before button press.(3) Puzzle of multiple solutions adopted, the solution level to insight problems of MR group is higher than that of C with high average a power in left hemisphere involved. During 2s-1.4s before button press, the average a power of MR full-restructing group is stronger than that of C; the average y power of MR full-restructing group is stronger than that of C in AF7. While During 1.5-0.25s before button press the average a power of MR full-restructing group is stronger than that of C in most regions except left pre-frontal regions. The average a power and y power trend of insight group and full-restructing group is the same during 2s-1.4s and 1.5-0.25s before pressing button, which shows that puzzle of multiple solutions is good material for insight study; only during 2s-1.4s before pressing button is the average y power of MR full-restructing group is stronger than that of C in AF7, which means that MR is helpful for automatically restructuring the information in the long-term memory through subconsciousness.
