The Study Of Polysyllabic Words Of The Ground Certificate In Song And Yuan Dynasty

The Ground Certificate is a legal certificate of cemetery in the Hades for dead people, prepared by the living. It’s a kind of land deed contract between the living and underground spirits, which means that the dead is accepted and protected by the underground government. The Ground Certificate is born in the earlier Eastern Han Dynasty and is popular in Tang-song dynasty. Although the subject of the Ground Certificate is monotonous, the content is rich enough. The Ground Certificate of Song-Yuan Dynasty is more completely preserved and easier to present the vocabulary.Three hundred and six rubbings are included in this paper. By mining through about 70 thousand words, eight hundred and thirty polysyllabic words are included in this paper. The polysyllabic words in the Ground Certificate of Song-Yuan Dynasty are scientifically classified and described. By comparing the words’ meanings in the grant Chinese dictionary and in the documents of Song-Yuan Dynasty, the corpus value of the Ground Certificate is clearly clarified.There are five chapters in this paper. In chapter one, there is a brief introduction on the research situation of the Ground Certificate, including the inscriptions, epigraphs and polysyllabic words in Song-Yuan Dynasty. In chapter two, the polysyllabic words in Song and Yuan Dynasty are classified by language structures. The meanings of polysyllabic words are verified in chapter two. In chapter three, the meanings of polysyllabic words in the grant Chinese dictionary and in the Ground Certificate of Song-Yuan Dynasty are compared. In chapter four, the meanings of polysyllabic words in the Ground Certificate of Song-Yuan Dynasty and in other references during the same period. The end is the summary of this paper.
