A Business Interpreting Practice Report For Textile Garment Trade On The International Trade Fair In Liaoning Province

The international trade fair in Liaoning Province is an important event regarding foreign trade. It aims to improve the economic development of Liaoning Province by boosting trade between China and foreign countries. The author acted as a business interpreter and took part in the trade fair at the end of May, 2015. The main cases are derived from difficulties during the interpreting process in the trade fair. The writer makes detail analysis on these cases and raises solutions and strategies. In the task, the author deeply understands the hardship of interpreting and has accumulated both mental and physcial experience. After the task, the author summarizes the experience, ponders over the shortage and gets deeper perception about interpretion. The author hopes that these would be beneficial to the study, research and work of interpretation in future.The paper includes four chapters. The first chapters is the Task Description, in which the author makes a brief introduction of the consigner, the task and the requirement. The second chapter is the Process Description, in which the auther describes the process in three stages, by the order of interpretation preparation, interpreting process and interpretation evaluation. The third chapter is Case Analysis and Solving Strategies and it is the most important part of the practice report. The auther summarizes the problems of modifying products by “idioms of four Chinese characters”, too many numbers and colors in conversation and tough tone in communication in this business interpreting task and puts special emphasis on the analysis of these examples which combine theory and professional techniques, offering solutions and summarizing strategies and experience of similar interpreting difficulties. In the conclusion, the author summarizes some unsolved problems of the business interpretion task and records some relevant thoughts, pointing out the qualities for an excellent interpreter and proposing the inspiration and expectation for the study and work in future.
