The Investigation About The Feasibility Of Luoshan Shadow Play’s Side

Shadow play art, as a comprehensive traditional folk art, combines music, literature, fine arts and other art forms together. It is a precious cultural heritage of Chinese nation. Luoshan shadow play is an outstanding representative of Chinese shadow play art, which not only has a distinct characteristic in artists heritage, shadow play performance and shadow puppets production, but also has a high aesthetic value and cultural value. However, nowadays Luoshan shadow play faced the tough situation with the loss of shadow play audiences, shadow play artists and shadow play skills. In order to promote the living environment of Luoshan shadow play art, and inherit and preserve the intangible cultural heritage better, based on the full knowledge of its origins, development and characteristics, we aim to analyse the reasons and propose reasonable recommendations of extracting the commercial value of Luoshan shadow play arts and exploiting its side-line range of products. In the thesis, the author demonstrated the feasibility of Luoshan shadow play’s side-line range of products development, analysed the favourable conditions and pointed out the issues that should be noticed. From the aspects of art design, the author also explored the development strategy of side-line range of products, which related to graphic design, product design, fashion design, textile design. After having the composite analysis, the feasibility of developing the side-line range of products of Luoshan shadow play art has been proved. The implementation of the product development programme will improve and consolidate the economic base of Luoshan shadow play development, which has a significant influence on Luoshan shadow art’s protection and inheritance.
