The Research Of Applying Chengdu Shadow Play Graphics Language To Native Products

This research topic includes two aspects:the first one is the unique characteristics of shadow play graphics language in contrast to many other traditional ethnic graphics, and the local characteristics of shadow play graphics language in Chengdu and within the scope of their jurisdiction; the other one is using the unique features of Chengdu shadow play graphic language, through the innovative design and the integration of brand planning, to improve the packaging design of local special products in the areas which have the same regional environments, this could improve product packaging recognition degree, and promote the products as well, this is also the main purpose of this research.In addition, shadow play is a traditional folk art since ancient China, but because of its limitation of performing form and the timeworn shadow models, and many other factors, the shadow is especially dull, lack of competitiveness by comparing with the new media art, which has the rich contents and widespread. As our country start to strengthen the protection of intangible cultural heritage, as one of the categories, shadow paly gets more and more attention of the public. However, attention and protection is far away from enough to the shadow play, how to get the shadow play live on is our top priority to consider. Therefore, the other purpose of the subject is through this research, to have the effects on the inheritance of the traditional folk art of shadow play.This subject takes the packaging design as the carrier, It has a very good reference for shadow-play graphics language application in graphic design. This thesis will take my graduation design as the examples, from planning, design, modeling, and the whole design way of thinking and the matching of the detailed explanation, in order to verify the proposed viewpoints and related design method in this thesis. Hope that through this study, to insert the new visual elements to the local products packaging design, and to a certain degree, alleviate the marginalized survival crisis of shadow play.
