Commonly used words plays an important role in vocabulary system. It is meaningful for compilation of the dictionary, exploitation of ancient books, lexical teaching and the establishment of the history of Chinese vocabulary to study the evolution of the common words. Everything in the world is constant movement, commonly used words of ‘Bian Hua’Category closely related with human activities. It is useful for us to see the condition of common word in anciet chinese, besides, It can expand the scope of case study.The study object is commonly used words of “Bian-Hua” category, involving “bian”, “hua”, “yi”, “gai”“, ge”, “geng”, “yi””qian”, “yu”, “shan”, “xi”, “bian-hua”, “bian-geng”, “bian-yi”, “yi-yi”. We study object from the semantic and syntax. These methods include synchronic and diachsronic perspectives, quantitative and qualitative analysis, comparison analysis and conceptual elements analysis are used to study. Thirdly, we analysis and summarize the ancient Chinese condition and the characteristics of evolution in different phases, involving first stage, the second stage and the third stage.To comprehensively and accurately, we investigate comprehensively 24 language materials ancient period, statistics the frequency of each object in three different stages. Secondly, we use the conceptual elements analysis to study the characteristics of semantic in different stages. We also analysis the characteristics of the words collocation. Two content, the conditon of semantic and syntax in different stages,the characteristics of evolution, are studied by compare analysis.Four parts consist the paper. The first chapter is the introduction. It includes this paper motive, the topic defined standard, the language materials,the research method and status.The second chapter. We describe three different periods of semantic and grammar in ancient time. Firstly, using "concept elements analysis" to analysis the concept of each word’s elements in different phases, comparing differences among members. Secondly, to analysis the verb-object structures of each word in different phases, comparing the similarities and differences.The third chapter. We discusses the diachronic changes which are specific situation and evolution characteristics. To analysis the specific evolution from these aspects, the number of members, distribution range, use frequency, concept elements and verb-object structures, summarizing the evolution features.The four conclusion of this paper is a systematic summary of the main points, and points out some deficiencies of this paper.
