A Study On The Anti-Semitic Propaganda Of The Nazi Regime

This paper discussed Nazi antisemitic propaganda. With the help of highly integrated and coordinated propaganda machine, Nazi regime intensified the long-existed antisemitic ideas of German society and managed to built prevalent antisemitic consensus, which laid foundation for the transformation of Jewish policy from prosecution and exclusion to the Final Solution. Based on this, the social and ideological backgrounds of Nazi regime’s antisemitic propaganda were examined first. And it pointed out, on the one hand, that the extension and transformation of public sphere greatly increased the realistic need for political propaganda after the Nazi party came into power, and provided a broad stage for it to play.Antisemitism had existed for a long time in Germany before Nazi regime, and the theory of Jewish conspiracy was not originally invented by Nazi Party. During the modernization of the Second German Empire, Antisemitism evolved a lot and gained some racist elements, this can be regarded as the most relative origin of Nazi Party’s antisemitic ideas. It is with the help of such a highly efficient propaganda system that Nazi Regime directly connected the fuhrer and millions of plain Germans. Antisemitism was instilled into their mind through daily propaganda activities and programs, which affected their idea and attitude without notice.The specific content and discourse of Nazi antisemitic propaganda were closely connected with Nazi Party’s political goal and the situation of WWII. Antisemitism was one of the most significant prism that Nazi Party used to interpret history, and it was also used as the main justification for the unfolding news. The deterioration of the military situation faced by the Third Reich corresponded with closer association between the “Jewish Conspiracy” and News as well as the radicalization of Nazi Party’s perception of the ‘Jewish Question’, which largely led to the Holocaust.Undoubtedly, Nazi Regime’s antisemitic propaganda had its immense effect.
