The Features Of Characteristics Strength Under Gender Roles Perspective And Its Influence Studies On Subjective Well-Being

Positive psychology is a discipline, which look at the development of human nature scientifically and focus on human strength and virtue. It assumed that the core of life should be more focus on the positive side of life. Character strengths, which is brought by the rise of positive psychology during this period, is one of the most influential achievements. Studies about character strengths and happiness turn to seek distinctive advantages of individuals. Only when these advantages get training and implementation, can individuals attain development and happiness. In addition, in the contemporary society, more and more "tomboy" and "sissy" image appears, which trigger our thinking on personality traits and strengths under the perspective of gender and gender role.Compared with the traditional psychology, positive psychology focus more on the positive side of human nature. Under the background of these premise, we find that college students’ psychological problems is growing in today’s society due to the rising employment pressure. By reviewing the related research literature on happiness,character strengths, and gender roles, we think that the level of happiness of Chinese college students have a certain correlation with character strengths and gender role. Through the use of their own character strengths, we assume under the gender dimension,they can reduce negative emotions, such as anxiety and depression, so as to improve the level of subjective well-being.In this study, 612 college students were studied as research models. This paper mainly use the method of literature,survey,questionnaire, SPSS17.0 and AMOS17.0 to conduct the following two studies:1.On the basis of previous studies, taking confirmatory factor analysis on personality advantage theory models raised by predecessors.2.By using questionnaire survey to collect data, to discuss college students’ gender advantage and its mechanism on subjective well-being.The study found:1.On the basis of previous research, taking confirmatory factor analysis on personality advantage theory models, the study proves that the fitting degree of the structural models is good.2. Among the 24 character strengths, the top five signature strengths of Chinese college students are Fairness, Love, Gratitude,Authenticity and kindness.3. There are no significant differences of the 6 dimension and total score of subjective well being of college students under the differentiation of androgyny mode,the femininity mode, and the masculinity mode.4.Zest,hope,humor, modesty,curiosity and love were substantially associated with subjective well-being. The androgyny model most relevant to subjective well-being, followed by the femininity mode and the masculinity mode.5.Zest, hope, love, humor,modesty were substantially fitting to subjective well-being on androgyny mode; Zest and love were substantially fitting to it on femininity mode. Curiosity were substantially fitting to it on masculinity mode.
