A Study Of Offering Captive Ritual In Northern Song Dynasty

Offering captive ritual in Northern Song Dynasty grew out of nothing and then began to be weakened. The paper consists of six parts and discusses all previous offering captives. In this paper, the introduction part explains the cause of the selection of the subject describes the present research on offering captive ritual and presents the research methods of this thesis. The first chapter primarily summarizes the development of offering captive ritual before Northern Song Dynasty and discusses the formulation and application of offering captive ritual in the early Northern Song Dynasty. The second chapter studies the implementations situation of offering captive ritual in the later period of the Northern Song Dynasty. The third chapter especially researches the development and evolution of offering captive ritual. The forth chapter deeply analyzes the evolution reason of offering captive ritual. In the conclusion part, the paper gives an entire analysis and summary, changes in offering captive ritual adapting to needs of governing.
