Epistemological Research In The Perspective Of Historical Materialism

Marx’s historical materialism is one of the two great discoveries, which constitutes the premise of the Marxist theory of epistemology. It is the main feature which is different from the old Marxist epistemology. The basic principle of historical materialism embedded in Marxism epistemology. We can’t accurately understand the Marxist theory of epistemology if people leave the premise of historical materialism.This paper is divided into four parts. First, it settles the history of the development of modern epistemology, sketching the development logic of rationalism and empiricism, pointing out their theoretical difficulties. And then, Hegel attempted to overcome the philosophy of metaphysics by dialectic, but the shell of idealist stifled dialectic. Feuerbach attempted to overcome Hegel’s idealist philosophy by materialism, but he committed two fatal errors:First, he abandoned the dialectics. Second, he fell into idealism in history. Marx criticized and transformed the dialectics, transforming Feuerbach’s intuitive materialism into practical materialism, establishing the historical materialism and grounding the epistemology over the historical materialism.The second part of this article based on the basis of the materialist basis of historical materialism Marxist Epistemology.
