This paper is mainly concerned with systematically describing the creation process of my photographic work of hospice care. The inspiration of this creation originated from the year in which I studied in the United Kingdom. In the UK, author saw old people frequently in shops, cinemas and pubs, meaning that the life support level of them is really high. Because of this, old people can enjoy their life with adequate time. This situation makes me think of China, in which how old people get sufficient care, or what kind of care and support can be given to old people by China. Hospice care appears in my head by exploring and collecting information through the Internet, which is a new method of care. In China, I find that hospice care is not mature after further exploration and research. This can be performed in many cities, which are without related institutions. Care for old people have become gradually important with the increasingly serious situation of population aging. Therefore, I decide to create a series of work---“hospice care” by the use of documentary photography. I hope to appeal to all people to care for and focus on the elderly through the extension and impacts of documentary photography. In this paper, I separated it into four chapters to describe my creation process, which include research、shooting、editing and so on.
