In the second half of the 19 th century, the romantic thoughts of music is risen generally. A large number of composers from Eastern Europe and Northern Europe who aimed to revitalize the national music were appeared, such as Smetana and Dvorak of Czech, Glinka and "the five" of Russia, Grieg of Norway, and Sibelius of Finland and so on. The works of composers were filled with strong patriotism and nationalism, and the composers were called musical nationalists. Affected by this, the road of revival national music was taken by the Spanish composer that outside the Continental Europe. Pedrell, Albeniz, Granados, Falla and the other composers made important contributions for the rise and development of Spanish musical nationalists.The further development of musical nationalists was made in twentieth Century. The musical creation of new musical nationalists on praise national spirit and people’s lives was weakened in twentieth Century. The connotation and new features of folk music were paid more attention by composers, and the inherent law such as folk tonality, scale, rhythm, etc., were absorbed to creation. Granados who is studied in this paper are the backbone of the Spanish musical nationalists. The "Spanish Dance", "romantic scene", "Goya" and other works are the works had important position in the Spanish even the whole world.The piano music style of Granados is diversified, multi-level, national, and romantic. He was called as "the Spanish Chopin", "last romantic" by people, and "our Schubert" by his countrymen. Of course, the music style of Granados cannot be expressed precisely by any description. His works have both the timeless music elements of the Spanish nation and his own unique artistic charm. The music elements of distinctive national characteristics, such as dance rhythm, guitar mood, and folk melody of Spanish, are filled with the piano music of Granados. And the strong nationalism feature and great love of national history, culture, and local customs and practices are revealed by his works. Granados has an important role in the history of Spanish piano music, and the rise of musical nationalists is greatly promoted by him.Enrique Granados(1867- 1916) is an excellent pianist and composer, and is also an important representative of Spanish folk music of the late 19 th century and early 20 th century His musical works are not only filled with a quality suggestive of poetry or painting, but also embodied the Spanish national temperament.
